Departure after breakfast when you wish from your hotel or apartment in Sofia. Our driver will meet you at the reception in the hotel or at your apartment. It takes about 2 hours one way to get to Plovdiv. Then you have free time (1-4 hours) for sightseeing. Plovdiv is one of the oldest European cities, life never stopped here for 6000 years. Witness the Thracian, Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman and Bulgarian traces and architecture. In Plovdiv you will have the chance to visit: Plovdiv old town, Roman theatre, Constantine and Elena church, Historical museum, Ethnographic museum, new town of Plovdiv, main pedestrianized and shopping street, ancient Roman Stadium, Roman forum, Roman Odeon, Djumaya mosque, old clock tower, Garden of Tsar Simeon with its Singing fountains, Plovdiv hills, known as "Tepeta". In 30 minutes you reach the mediaeval Asenova fortress, from which only the church is preserved till nowadays but you can have an amazing panorama view. You have about up to 1 hour for sightseeing. Then it takes 15 minutes to go to Bachkovo Monastery, one of the biggest Bulgarian monasteries, keeping the miracle working icon- The Holy Mother of God with a silver repousse cover. Free time here up to 1 hour. After another 2 hours you will be back in Sofia.
